Interesting - I just picked up a United altimeter from them last month and it tested fine.

I can’t even find the email that contained my numbers... I found the cc transaction, but no corresponding email with ticket numbers... I assume they called the winners... Oh well, at least the money goes to a good cause.

There's a video on YouTube of the actual incident... Rather unsettling. It was a Citabria. And yes, they were doing acrobatics. I believe the pilot was 26 and his passenger was 25.

Simple answer - no. Only becuase you mentioned the loose ground in the non-tso'd led strobes on the alternate aircraft. Had the ground been good, or the strobes TSO'd (with or without a bad ground) I would have said maybe. But this is a clear indication that the wings would not have...

You must be flying out of CXO. I used to work with those guys. They make the trip all the way up to Canada 24 times a year not to exceed greater than a 3 week interval. They're looking for leaks on the system and whether or not anyone is encroaching on the ROW (right of way). The caravans...
