Sorry - to clarify - we are based out of Seattle. The plane currently lives at Hicks, so we fly down to see friends, stay with them, and do local Texas tours in better weather. (So yes, there's a lot of flying on dads airplane weeks.)

finally got my five year old interested in flying, so I took him to Texas on a time building mission, and a short trip for BBQ in Stephenville. He came home telling his mother that "Texas is more fun than Disneyland." We made a silly little video as part of the day.

I didn't know they were making the hange this soon. I guess I better get on it. Listening to the interviews with the woman in charge of the ACS, I haven't been particularly impressed with the new system.

I've flown into hemer from AJO since the 90s. I have to be honest, I never looked at the glider runway and thought "that looks like it's good enough shape to try it." I honestly thought it was abandoned until this thread. Let us know if you do. :)

Congrats! It is a huge weight lifted when you finally pass. I had to take the checkride twice, with a DPE who spent time as a crash investigator, who was very interested in playing law and order during 6 hour oral. I'm glad you got through, and caught yourself before losing out. Well done...

These are amazing! Better than most of the paid offers I see in other forums! I'm based out of Hicks (T67) with a Bonanza. I only get to visit her occasionally, but would gladly buy you breakfast or lunch if you ever had time to take pictures. :)
