Care to share the story?
He was already pretty slow when he started to veer off the runway, and in the grass before he started to turn (I think..). I probably would have let it veer off of the runway into the grass, because what's the point of keeping skidding aluminum that's filled...
No we don't. And I'm not saying he made the wrong decision for his situation. I was just wondering what more experienced pilots thought about landing on 2 wheels vs. a belly landing.
Personally I'm with you, Tony. I like symmetrical forces.
I watched the landing live...granted it wasn't a great view of things, but it looked to me like the pilot tried to land on the left wheel first, and then tried to keep it off the nose for as long as possible, but as soon as the right wing dropped the plane veered of the the right side of the...
Am I hearing.....good reporting? They called it a Piper Lancer...said it's really not that big of an event.
For the 45 seconds I saw of it they actually did a good job!
Would you have landed gear down with only a left main and the nose gear down and green?
I agree with Ken, the King material did nothing for me, and reading Max's book did everything for me. It's also nice to get very familiar with the cockpit reference guide, I'm pretty sure you can download it in PDF form from Garmin's site.
Might want to check out Hulu.com as well, Diana. I don't know how soon they put new episodes up. Worst case scenario you can buy it on iTunes.
(I've been watching 24 since I think the second or third episode...I guess I'm addicted!)
My backup solution is the program in my signature, that backup file is then placed on our "emergency" backup drive regularly through my network. This is a drive that I quickly grab from my room if we have a fire or tornader. I also back this file up to my iDisk (a networked drive) and print of...
keep an eye on eBay! We found my brothers Mac on there a few years back. Stupid idiot gave us all the info we needed to call the cops and get it back.
Check with your neighbors as well. My headset was stolen last fall, and found by my neighbor on her front lawn. She found a pen from my FBO...
I don't necessarily like all of the music that he plays, but Barker is one of the better drummers alive. Have you seen the crap this guy can do? :yesnod: It's nuts. He's talented.
I think the whole suing thing is a little weak sauce. Take your losses as they are. There's no reason to take...
I thought about getting one for taking notes in class....but then I realized I have a computer that can do the exact same thing!
(They're still really cool!)
Apple Airport Extreme Base Station.
Better range and reliability that Linksys (from experience) and the best router I've ever had. Works equally great with mac/pc.
Linksys comes in second, and whatever you do stay away from friggin Belkin.
That'd be fun. Too bad I can't land OU's planes on grass and I already built up my XC time for this semester (and renting from the city is now on my own dime...yikes!).
Watch out for Fowl near the Tishomingo wildlife refuge, there were birds (or flocks of birds) that were big enough to show up...
