I remember being at niagara falls air force base circa 1986 and watching those things take off and land. I was 16 years old. It was nighttime and watching two of them take off together side by side down the runway is an image (and sound) I will never forget. Afterburners lighting up the night...
I would also recommend checking around to see if there are any good flying clubs near you. It was the perfect solution for me...it was a great club with great rates, airplanes and CFIs. Good luck
Gotta say it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. That image of him standing on the platform and then just leaning foward and falling into the abyss was incredible. He pulled the chute at 5200' exactly as planned...no freefall record because he simply got there a lot faster. Thanks...
