What soccer needs to be interesting is...

I play a bunch of indoor soccer, and my fiance has played outdoor her whole life, so I get to see it played a whole bunch lately. I REALLY like the idea of a back-court type violation. It is pretty sickening to see the team in the lead play an ugly form of 'keep away' for a half hour. I...

Thanks! That'll provide a good bit of reading for my day :)

    RV6 Down in Oregon

Do you guys have links to the discussions on VAF? I'm curious to see what was said about the spar beforehand, as well as now that the accident has happened. I haven't been able to find it though... any help would be appreciated :)

What's the scrap value of a Traumahawk?

Quick googling shows scrap aluminum prices as less than $1/lb. Seems that it would probably not be worth it.

    For Sale: RV-12 Light Sport

I love this plane :) The wing paint job on this one inspired the wing paint on 331RV.

    How to continue to fly?

Did you take a look at the RV-12? LSA and has all of the nice new features of any 2 seater in its price range. The design is as solid as any of Vans' stuff, and 'fit and finish' is just a product of the owner :) Additionally, the Flight-Design aircraft are exceptional birds and come equally...

    [NA] C# programing [NA]

Cool, glad it helped! I've done a bunch of socket programming both in and out of .Net, and do C# development professionally. If you have more questions, you're welcome to PM me and I can give you my work email, and I'll help out when I can.

    [NA] C# programing [NA]

Take a look at the TCPClient class, it is a really easy to use socket implementation, you just treat it like a simple serial device. The actual "Socket" class is great when you know what you're doing, but it can be a little heavy when starting out. As for parsing the return values, that is...

    Facebook more important than cash?

It isn't that outrageous to me actually. Any company that has you sit at a computer all day (particularly for a salaried job) that filters internet too much ends up being pretty miserable. If my company stopped me from going to a bunch of websites that I enjoy, I'd probably be on the job hunt...

Dumbest thing you have done and lived to tell about it

I don't think I have any good ones aviation related... Thanks to a really great intercom in my RV-12, I listen to music all the time while I fly, but it auto-tunes it out so it isn't a big deal. Foolish flying things: 1- I pulled the mixture instead of the throttle on short final in a C-150, I...

    Any Comanche guys near KHIO?

Danny Stark @ Twin Oaks rents out a Comanche and is an A&P, I'm sure he'd be willing to take a look, or might even know the plane in question.

    Best Headset Features

Concur, though it seems like any decent headset is passable. I would say noise reduction is paramount (though my Zulus are great at it) and general comfort (not totally happy with the Zulus) are the most important.

My first flight with a new CFII

When I was there a few years ago, that '3300x25' was more like '2200 x 15'. I can't imagine it got any better.

My first flight with a new CFII

At OKH aborting a takeoff is pretty darn near impossible. It is a very steep downhill and pretty narrow. Additionally the pavement is pretty crappy. Application of the brakes at a decent speed is pretty dangerous. I've flown there once (With the OP actually), and wouldn't do it again without...
