    Capable Out-of-Production Twins

No, it's not dicey at all, it does just fine on one. I've flown a 700P and two straight up 600s. This one is modified with VGs, changed out prop and governors and can pull 300hp a side. Nice airplane.

    Flu shot poll

You cannot get the flu from a flu shot, it is impossible. It IS, however, very possible to get the flu from the doctor's office where everyone sick with the flu (and all other manner of diseases) is going, touching doornobs and pens and bathroom faucet handles. The shot isn't effective for all...

    Bent Airplane *Long*

Tony, I just wanted to let you know that thanks to your post, I took the logs for our 172RG in, and found no evidence that the service bulletin had been complied with yet. I alerted our mechanic, who is taking care of it this week. One less RG to hopefully worry about.

    Death grip and students

As a not-large woman instructor, most students could overpower me if they were scared enough. I've had a few freeze on me but let go in an appropriate amount of time, and I've one one, a 325 pound man in a C-172 freeze on me during stalls. He would NOT let go after the stall broke, after...

Soloing a Student in an Experimental

Your assumptions about me are not correct, Dr. Bruce, but having lurked on internet aviation forums long enough, I understand why you might automatically think what you do. That's why I was careful to try to explain that nobody is trying to do anything unsafe or sketchy, without writing a...

Soloing a Student in an Experimental

To restate my question a bit, I'm not asking what's required to solo a regular student, or if it would be smart to solo someone without having flown that plane with them, but if it is legal for someone with a student pilot certificate to solo an experimental aircraft. Does anyone know the regs...

Soloing a Student in an Experimental

It's a two-seat experimental, it's just that his size is such that we'd have to find a tiny CFI to be able to get in there with him. But it IS legal to sign off a student in a 2-seat experimental for solo without flying in it with him? The matter of being comfortable doing so is of course...

Soloing a Student in an Experimental

There seems to be an argument about this, so I thought I'd ask you guys: One of our instructors soloed a guy in a C-172, meaning of course his student certificate is signed off and he has a solo endorsement in his logbook. He now wants to be signed off in another airplane-his own experimental...

    CFIs in transition

I know you don't know me and I've mostly been a lurker on the red board and have completely been an occasional lurker here, but I followed your journey through to your CFI, and wanted to offer a little encouragement. I know you already took the position, but I'd say you have your answer with "I...
