    Swamp Cirrus

Ilan Reich, who parachuted down into the Hudson claims that he steered away from some big fuel farm on the ground by using power and rudder while under canopy. Of course, you're supposed to kill the engine, electrical and fuel and sit back and enjoy the ride but I guess with these...

    Swamp Cirrus

Some get repaired but most don't. One Cirrus that chuted down was sufficiently intact to be flown back to a repair station from where it has ended up. If I recall correctly, that was the one that was mistakenly fueled with Jet A.

    Dreams are slowly shattering.

I think the advice you are getting is sound. It of course is tainted by personal experience and personal preferences of the posters. As others have mentioned, I would suggest asking yourself if your dream is to be a professional pilot, flying other people around on their schedule in big heavy...

    What would the repercussions be?

This is not a new idea. I've heard of people doing this for years. The gumball rally and various other public road races and record setting attempts have used this technique in the past. I don't know that there is enough demand to build a business on the idea, but it has been done.

On the other hand, I'm typing this on a Macbook Air that has 43GB free space (not bad for an 80GB drive that formats...

Looking for a partner in a used SR22...

I'd like to partner with someone in a used SR22 (2003-2005 model seems the right range). I have tried asking around at my airport (KHPN) and have found one guy interested in partnering on a plane but he wants something a bit slower (C182 or DA40) and he wants a brand new plane. I'd rather have...

    Instrument Training at HPN?

I don't believe so as that name does not ring a bell. I have only been flying at Panorama since January so my experience there is limited.

    Instrument Training at HPN?

Damn - I saw the thread title and thought I would be uniquely able to help since I am currently doing my IFR training at Panorama at HPN. But then I saw that you are looking for an independent and I can't help you there. If you change your mind and want to consider Panorama, let me know. I know...
