Second the only thing to check on the oxygen system in a King Air is that there is oxygen. It is just a maintence check I believe. Cause its not a fun process of getting the quick donning mask back up where it belongs.

I would agree with Tony. As far as I can remember back in the day, there wasn't much difference between the three turns and the EGT methods. I think I preferd just doing the three turns.

Well from my many hours of icing experience I've had too many boots bridge the ice so I never pop the boots with less than 1/4. I prefer 1/2 inch to be confident its going to shed. As far as popping them on final. I've done it twice in my career and I'll never do it again unless I can't hold...
