Thanks for both the useful and humorous comments. I'm not completely happy about it, but I do feel a bit better about it. I'm starting my A&P classes in August specifically so I can both understand and not be at the mercy of other shops for all my repairs.

Directional Gyro

I am need of a vacuum heading indicator with a bug for a PA-32-300. Used or refurbished is perfect fine for a vacuum unit. A Garmin GI 275 and other digital units are not an option for me right now. Is there an online seller that you prefer for this kind of purchase? Thank you for your assistance.

Is adding a digital OAT and sensor to the side of my plane something I can legally install on my own or is this something I need to have done by a licensed avionics shop? Where do I find the ins-and-outs of what I can and can't do to my own airplane?

Yeah, outdoor is not ideal but hangers aren't easy to come by. I'm not seeing any moisture inside the top of the fuselage. Not even seeing any in the tail that isn't just some condensation from the humidity, but can't be 100% certain yet. I'll have a better idea come Friday.
