    Blue Mountain Avionics User's Group

I'm still flying with a BMA EFIS/AP. Greg got me a fix when my unit displayed everything shifted 17 degrees, that was a couple of years ago and haven't heard from him since. He was then selling remote systems to monitor the environment in marijuana grow houses.

Let's talk about flying in the mountains.

If you have to ask then yes, you need instruction. Sounds like you should see a doctor as well.

Hey mogas user, how do you get your gas to the field?

It was 10 years ago so memory is hazy. We went to the CA Hwy Patrol and they advised us we could carry the gas in open buckets if we wanted. They sold us a big book of Regs and it has never been an issue.

    [rant]Cage free eggs[rant]

Some of us look for an omega3/omega6 ratio that is close to 1:1 like in grass fed beef. I say its better to have all your long chain fats balanced. I get expensive eggs for the same reason that I get expensive grass fed meats, expensive omega3 pork, and expensive line caught wild fish and...

    [rant]Cage free eggs[rant]

Unless an egg contains at least 350 mg of Omega-3, it is basically a worthless egg. Generally speaking eggs will have about 660 mg of Omega-6 so anything less than 350 mg of Omega-3s per egg leads to a large Omega-3 deficit that is difficult to overcome in the daily diet. ... In...

Mileage Tax to Replace Gas Tax ?

My point is that taxing us more doesn't prevent warming. Why make it a hidden tax?

Mileage Tax to Replace Gas Tax ?

We are paying $3.40 for regular here in Mammoth Lakes. Last year you could check how much of that was tax but this year we have tens of billions of cap and trade to pay for so now the retailers are denied access to the breakdown they used to publish. Of course this is only the beginning, no...

    Flying Nightmares

Here's my advice, create dreamsigns and when you recognize them, enjoy the flight! If obstacles and wires are in your flying dreams then begin to say to yourself when flying and encountering obstacles 'ahead is an obstacle to avoid and I'm not dreaming' this is assuming you are not dreaming...

    Flying Nightmares

Not just trees but wires and other obstacles are often in my dreams. I'm often flying through a hole that is too small and I usually don't make it. No harm done because on some level I usually know its a dream and go with it. I learned to fly in an ultralight and my flying dreams tend to be...

    Flying Nightmares

I'm a lucid dreamer and flying nightmares are a clue to me that I am dreaming, once I know I am dreaming I usually shed the plane and just spread my arms and fly thru trees. I tend to contact the trees on most dreams but never get hurt.

Scary Crosswind Takeoff in a Skycatcher

LSA do need their nosewheels in contact longer in a crosswind so the rotation is a bit of a leap into the air to avoid being blown sideways when you get light but are still in contact. Take offs at Mammoth can mean dealing with a lot of wind shear and when that is the case I might keep my...

    High altitude airports

Lee Vining comes to mind. Mammoth Yosemite and South Lake Tahoe can be interesting even with their long runways.

How Italians handle those parked illegally...

Here at Mammoth they are planning on building a big wounded warier facility. Disabled skiing is a big thing here.
