Enterprise got my blood pressure up this morning

To make it even worse, my personal car insurance won't cover me in a turo either. By the time I add insurance options to turo it's just as expensive (if not more) than the traditional car rental companies

What happens if an AME issues a medical certificate when he should have deferred?

Check out the CACI guide for AMEs. It's what tells them what they can issue a medical for and what needs to be deferred.

    Sport and DUI

Basic Med can only be done after having an FAA medical.

    Seaplane endorsement?

Wouldn't that have to be after the Proficiency Check though? Since the Proficiency Check is whats granting you the endorsement. And a FR has to be done in an aircraft you are rated/endorsed for.

    Seaplane endorsement?

I have a Sport ASES Endorsement. I did mine in a J-3 on straight floats. It was a lot of fun and would recommend it! Handful of hours with a CFI to train you, followed by a Proficiency Check with a different CFI. The Check CFI gives the endorsement. Even though it's an endorsement, you'll...

Hudson River Skyline Route during stadium TFR

Skyvector shows the active and upcoming ones if you have the TFR layer enabled. Not sure how far in advanced it starts showing them though.

    Grumman CFI Near NYC /Connecticut

You can also try calling the flight schools at BDR. There used to be a flight school there that had several AA5s on their fleet. They closed up shop couple of years ago, but it wouldn't surprise me if the instructors moved to other schools on the field.

    Rented/borrowed car insurance claims

Turo is not the same as a traditional car rental. Nor is it considered borrowing a car since you paid for it. The term might be something along the lines of car sharing. My auto or credit card auto insurance don't cover Turo at all.

Dan Johnson On LSA Rule Changes

They jumped on Basic Med pretty quick (by FAA standards at least) and within the allotted time.

News regarding Paul Kramer flight school at KPMP?

I was visiting that area over Xmas myself. I called them to get some flying in while down there. I got a similar response via text though, and they said something about not opening again until Feb to update the aircraft. :dunno: Id be interested to see what happens since I'm sure I'll end up...

? for the Docs - 3rd Class Med Deferred - Light Sport

Looking at 61.303(b) (2) Have been found eligible for the issuance of at least a third-class airman medical certificate at the time of his or her most recent application (if the person has applied for a medical certificate); I would say the OPs most recent application has not yet been found...

    2+ week shutdown

They did. Though it wasn't as long last year .He left earlier if I recall correctly.

Should I alert the FAA about my so called friend?

If OP does decide to report. Can the faa revoke BasicMed? If the class 3 has expired they can't revoke that I imagine? And if his last medical wasn't revoked could they still fly LSAs? I suppose they could go after the license itself.

    Flew through a TFR.

Look at Faasafety.gov and sign yourself up for TFR email notifications if you aren't an aopa member.

LSA weight limit to be increased to 3600 lb!

While changing the laws of LSAs, they'll also change the laws of physics and mechanics....simple!
