Little River Airport now has ground transportation! Come on down!!!!!! The web site is obar11.com. Please give a call to 707-321-6655 if you have questions or want a reservation. Should be on airport Sunday or Monday. Hope to see everyone!:D

Holy crap! If you had posted that an hour earlier I would have taken you up on that! I went there just today!

We have discovered a problem with our pricing, will have it straightened out soon. Thanks Rex

OK we finale have things straightened out. Please look at the web site to see the corrected prices. The rate is one way, double that for the round trip rate. Rate is the same for one or two people and we will go with one on board. Hope this did not inconvenience anyone. Guess I thought I was still hauling Lumber for a living. Friday(tomorrow)8/3 is the first day Come on Down!

OMG this is great. I can't wait to try out your service. Unfortunately, I have a big fly-in this month. I will most likely not be able to see you until a weekend in September.

Many thanks, and good luck to you! I will pass the word on to my pilot friends, I belong to several local groups who can announce your services in their newsletters which get sent to hundreds of pilots.

If you give me your email address I can cc: you on the announcements.

I sent your website to the 99s to ask if they could announce your opening in their next newsletter.

This was the reply:

"There used to be a service called the Mendocino stage that took people from the airport. Maybe they are not in business anymore."

Is this other company out of business?

I don't know whether Mendocino Stage is still in business, but they have not been providing transportation at LLR for years.

Mendo stage went out of business a few years ago. Do not know why. Come on up and see us.

Updated pricing makes this a viable option...
Thanks

First day on the job, had first customer this afternoon ,so foggy you could not see the end of the airport until after 1:00pm. Come on down and see me.

Cool, and I like the discount. (BTW, a typo:
"10% discount for AOPA,EAA,Cessna Pilots Association,Purple Board for Pilots,Pilots of America,VAF and Cessena 172's")

One thing that worried/confused me was this line from the services page:"
Charter service reservations require a $100.00 deposit with the balance to be paid upon pickup on the day of service. Cancellations received less than seven (7) days of scheduled charter date result in forfeiture of the full deposit."

I'm guessing that this is left from before the price change. Personally, I'd have a real problem as a pilot using that service, when weather could easily scrub my mission shortly before launch.

My guess is you can call dude and work out reasonable terms.

That is a standard policy thing for ground bound folk, and of course I would work with pilots, my favorite people.

Why would I put a $100 deposit on an $8 ride? That is confusing. If it helps, I wouldn't want you there at a certain time. I would just call after landing and wait for you. If you were busy I'd just wait.

And I will be on the airport Friday through Monday anyway.

A tad foo foo for my tastes. After a long flight I want to scarf down a Double Whopper with cheese!

Pan Seared Scallops Lardons,
Dried Apricots and Sage Beurre Rouge with Micro Arugula

That is pretty foo foo.

Remember that California stereotypes also include hippies and surfers...

Are you willing to trash the "rich aircraft owners" mystique so easily???? :yikes:

Actually the food there is very very tasty --- and I am on a diet so if it is not vast quantities it has to be delicious.
:D

There are cheap mountains of food restaurants in Mendocino as well ... and ice cream.

We all lust for good places to eat while flitting about in our air-machines -- now that there is transport we have one.

I know, I know. And it is true when I think of Mendocino (or Carmel for that matter) I think of bed and breakfast hotel stays with crystal wine glasses filled with mimosas in the morning, window shopping, brunch (at a foo foo restaurant), etc.

I am not dissing foo foo but for some reason I envision pilot meet ups as burgers and fries. Probably since we all spent so much to fly there.

Precisely. One $100 hamburger equates to a $200 plate of foo foo.

Been to Harris and their $35 buck filet /top sirloin/etc and that is the same price as the foo foo -- and I am absolutely unable to get my wife back to the truly awful burger at Harris.

But the people that flew in were what made and will make each fly-in we go to.
Mendocino is just another opportunity to meet folks.

If I want a good burger it is 15 minutes to 29r diner at O69 -- Been known to fly down for breakfast just for the good diner food.

If we have good wx Janet and I will be foo foo ing this weekend hope to see some of you up there

I was at your Harris Ranch fly-in! When are you going this weekend? Wasn't even thinking of flying but now you have me curious.

I am thinking about Saturday and maybe overnighting to Sunday. It supposed to be 107 here in Sacramento.

Wait, both of you thinking of flying up on Saturday? Gosh that is tempting. POA is the devil. Now I have to look and see if the planes are available.

I think my other half will be Salmon fishing on the ocean, so this will be my first solo cross country!!!

Boonville, yes but must comply with she who pays the fuel bills -- and Mendo is preferred in this situation -- remember there is shopping in Mendo :) :)

I am looking to beat the heat and LLR will get that done. Booneville is on the way, I guess. I was going to call around to see if I could find a camping spot.

This is exciting. The prices seem low enough ($16 from airport to Mendo)that we don't need to try too hard to land at the same time.

However, I just booked the cute 150 for the day so if either one of you would like to share a ride in the charter van with me we can split costs.

My cell is 7 0 7 - 7 9 9 - 6 3 1 4 and if I remember correctly Little River gets reception.

I was thinking of driving up to Boonville on Friday night just to see what all the fuss is about and decide if I want to fly in Saturday. They are expecting 300-400 people, with 200 for dinner, and it is not an easy airport for me so I'm not sure if I want to be a part of the chaos.
