I just realized, it looks like it's a warning for the banner tow cable!
The banner tow cables aren't very long.

That is actually a warning for glider operations as the tow plane will often be landing with a 160 ft cable attached.

I've been working in Northern Ohio for over 9 months now. I can tell you, without any reservation whatsoever, that this is the most unnecessary sign that you'll ever see up here:

I drive a 3/4 ton truck and every morning I feel like I should be strapping on my spurs!

I completely missed that. I thought the curved line was supposed to be the path of the plane after its tailwheel bounced off the car. I guess a tow line clipping the car makes more sense. I'm not sure that sign clearly explains the danger present.

You don't think *that* could make for a fun summer vacation?

Did you get to witness this?

How the heck did that car get so high on the engine?

I did not personally see it. A BNSF guy sent the photo from a newspaper. The train hit a car carrier truck at a crossing. The CTS got skewered on the second deck of the trailer. That'll teach somebody to sit on the tracks at a crossing (maybe).

I showed this to my wife. She said "Was it written by a 17 year old boy?" (We have a 17 year old son who's _very_ into adventure with little regard for life & limb.)

Scratch-n-Sniff book fail. Saw this on the waiting area lobby desk in the local bank. Hope it's funnel cakes, corn dogs, popcorn and cotton candy, not cows and sheep and pigs and chickens. I didn't open the book to find out.

This happened back in late 2007 when a truck with our product on it didn't obey the flashing lights. Ever seen a 320,000 egg omelet?

This one's for Kent. Apple fail. They have their "Visit a Store" and "Shop Online" headers over the wrong links. If you click Visit a Store's "Buy Now" link, you're shopping online; and if you click the Shop Online's "Find a Store" link, it takes you to the store locator.

I like the egg-battered engine. Dredge it in bread crumbs and that sucker will fry up nice and brown.

I was digging around and found a magazine that I saved (Laser Focus World) for obvious reasons. There's an ad in it for a company that specializes in optical equipment.

I'm guessing that the marketing department didn't mean for this one to get out into the public. The scan doesn't show very well, but that is a laser in the lower part of the picture, and those are safety glasses the guy is holding.

Where's Matt Michael when you need him?

ouchp1.gif

there's a reason matt doesnt use ladders. they are dangerous. my dad did a pretty similar thing once when we were trimming trees at our house. i thought he had broke his leg and i was going to have to call an ambulance. thankfully he was mostly OK.

MAD Magazine - win!

I noticed yet again in the few seconds forced on me that Beeb is yet another phenom pop performer who's voice is bad they overdub it with 6-12 real singers and STILL obviously use an Auto-tune. WTF?

I had a huge laugh one morning last year when I was in the bathroom as the local news played a snippet and gushed about Madonna's OUTSTANDING concert last night and since I was listening away from watching the spectacle it was obvious she couldn't sing in tune.
