While it's a great picture (fake or not), that ain't no 310. That's a Twin Comanche. A 310 stand much taller, looks sexier, and the engine nacelles look like they're actually designed to provide cooling to the engine (something that Piper seems to avoid doing at all costs). See here:

I have finally come around to the conclusion that the album cover is not a composite. There appears to be a supplemental light source above and to the right of the camera, directed at the model. You can just barely see the shadow of the model behind her. The reason her shadow is faint is because, judging by the shadows of her purse and the wing, the sun is directly overhead, and is filling in her shadow. Meanwhile, the supplemental light source is partially filling in her shadow from the sunlight, directly beneath her.

Maybe it was taken by a professional photographer. They often use supplemental light sources.

This site says she's Ana Hickmann, a famous Brazilian model, which lends support to the idea that the picture was shot by a professional.

I had a 72 Q model with the Norton Radome. I had a monochrome radar (can't remember which one off hand)
