Ahh. I must have typed it in wrong - but yaeh that's a bit odd nonetheless.. just made me think about an earlier post about the feds using secret planes and registrations.

But think of all the money that is saved by not having a functioning mental health system. That buys a lot of JetA and leaves plenty left over for reupholstering a seat.

I'm not sure this little murderer is mentally ill. At 21, he had to learn the hate somewhere. And the lack of morality and/or ethics. At that age, it says more about his upbringing than anything else. I think there are more folks culpable here than have been charged.

Still a lot of hate in this world. And still a lot of desire to try and control through violence.

By his facial condition in the pictures, I think he's on speed, and Ritalin has taken over as the gateway drug of this generation. It is so over prescribed to kids that don't need it that they are selling it. When it's time for stronger speed, plenty of meth on the market. The over prescription of Ritalin is most definitely a failure on the part of our mental health system. It's basically turned into no more than a profit center for the pharmaceutical industry. It was already happening by the time my dad retired as a pshrink and was one of his big complaints.

We have some planes outside of our regular prisoner transport planes, but I don't know how he was moved. My guess would be no, because we would have moved him without all the media circus involved. I have been part of plane transports where we chartered a jet to move someone. That is more probable.

Sucks for society.

Great for the media and government, they salvate over this stuff, gets ratings up, and allows them to use the T word by calling this nut a "terrorist" and we all know after that word gets thrown around special interests gets there's or the constitution gets crapped on a little more.

I lived and worked all across MS, AL and GA for about 4 years. I built about 20 O'Reilly stores so I lived (more or less) in 20 towns, large and small and I gotta say...

Jose's got a point. I learned a LOT. Nothing I ever wanted to know but a lot.

Some areas yes, some no.

Areas of widespread abject poverty are definitely more racist...both blacks and whites...I attribute it to simple human nature. When both you and "your brother" ain't got sh*t, you're far more likely to help out "your brother"...help him get ahead...than you are someone who's unlike you.

Poverty pushes people into their own corners and pits them against each other...look at the Middle East.

In more "well to do" areas, it's not as pronounced because people have more.

But the "well to do" areas are few and far between in the south and the extremely poor areas are widespread. I never realized how extremely poor the south was until I spent those four years down there.

Overall the standard of living just pretty much sucks...as do the schools. It goes hand in hand.

I can't compare TX to Alabama or Miss. because we're an oil rich state. Texas is one of the richest states in the richest country in the world. So we've got it pretty good.

Dallas and Midland Odessa probably have more Ferrari's per capita than L.A. or New York.

Broke is a temporary condition, poor is a state of mind.
 
Racism exists in every part of the country, at least in the south the racists are open and honest about it. In the north it's mostly a bunch of two faced losers who won't even admit it to themselves. My observation in the south is there are more mix raced groupings than in the north where self segregation is much more frequent. I think the honesty about it in the south has allowed more progress to be made.

You can't beat the Palm Beach to Miami stretch for the national Ferrari and other exotic car count though.

He was arrested by local NC police. He waived extradition, so SC just came and picked him up. Marshals may not have been involved.
