Pilot Celebrities... who are they?

Very likely. Many such people get a license because they can afford it (and then some) and want the status, not because of any real interest in aviation. They often seem to be looking for holes to pour their vast wealth into.

Dan

Maybe,

But have you tried to get anywhere in California during rush hour? If you have the means you can have someone waiting for you at the airport to pick you up might be much faster than I-5.

Not positive, but I think David Gilmour and Nick Mason are both pilots.

Does Ariel Tweto count?

Paul Harvey stole a military plane in 1944 and was discharged with a Section 8 (mental illness)

I did not know that!

Not surprising. Only confirms my opinion.
I wonder if he had long pauses when on radio to ATC.

Tom Landry (Dallas Cowboys coach)

I took instrument training from the CFI who did his last BFR and then flew with him one more time before he died. He showed me his log book where he asked Coach Landry to autograph it. He Had a 182.

And he wasn't one of those Hollywood pilots looking for something to do with his extra cash. He flew in WW II ... A greatest generation member.

Landry was a B-17 co-pilot. Flew 30 missions over Europe.

Gisele Bundchen (soloed in helicopter but apparently never finiahed)
Miles O'Brien (not sure if he's back in the cockpit after loosing an arm. Third generation pilot who owns a Cirrus. Looks like his son just got his student pilot certificate.)

Why is Travolta's Citation type rating VFR only? Battlefield Earth flashbacks in the soup?

Dierks Bentley owns and flies a Cirrus I believe. A week or two ago he posted a short clip of himself flying to the Bahamas in it.

Matt Kenseth
Mark Martin
Carl Edwards
Kyle Petty
Bill Elliott
Greg Biffle
Jack Roush - Oshkosh regulars remember him...
Chad Hennings - Was an A-10 pilot before playing for the Cowboys
Jimmy Graham - Owns a G36 Bonanza
Jeff Dunham - Built his Rotorway

And best of all...Burt "freakin" Reynolds!

Just kidding...

So, what about the head of the FAA...Michael Huerta? Surely he must.....

Don't see how he can fly class A airspace vfr. Heard horror stories about him from Gulfstream and simulflite people.

And there is ME

Now I could tell you what my celebrity name is, but then I'd have to . . . well, you know.

I can think of a couple of fails, Cory Lidle and Thurman Munson.:(

One could add Wiley Post and Amelia Earhart to that list, but they were both celebrities due to their aviation activities, not celebrities who also happened to have earned pilot certificates.

Global Girl!?...!?

Ken Jeong (Mr. Chow) is a physician. Funny man. I digress.

I'm surprised there is not more golfers, unlike team sports, seems they could really get a lot of use out having their own plane, wouldn't have to worry about losing their clubs.

Jimmy Graham is a pilot. Has a Pitts. I have seen Morgan Freeman a few times in his SJ30

Arnold Palmer, Phil Mickelson are the only two I can think of. :D Phil has a Citation type rating and owns a Gulfstream IV, I think. He used to have a G-II, his N number is 800PM. Of course Arnold Palmer is N1AP and flies out of Arnold Palmer Regional airport. :D
I was parked beside Phil in Michigan at the Tree Tops par 3 shoot out! :D
