Westboro's Fred Phelps is on his death bed

There's a lot more class on the other side:

Equality Kansas urged members of the Kansas, United States and worldwide LGBT communities Sunday to respect the privacy of the family of Fred Phelps.

"If the reports of Fred Phelps' declining health are accurate, then his family and friends are certainly saying their good-byes and preparing to mourn his loss," said Sandra Meade, chairwoman of Equality Kansas. "We ask that everyone understand the solemnity of the occasion, and honor the right of his family and friends to remember and mourn his loss in private without interruption or unseemly celebration," Meade said.

My favorite fact about them: Shirley Phelps, Fred's daughter had a son out of wedlock with an orderly at a halfway house with whom she was having an affair.

That's fine but being Gay!!!! Don't get me started.
Bunch of wackos

Bravo for "Equality Kansas". Living well is the best revenge...

Oh well.
Fred will finally discover for certain, if the bull he has been slinging, is true, or false and when he finds out it will be far too late to change his ways.

See, ya.

Good. When he dies I'm going to the funeral to **** on his grave. Its my right to exercise my freedom of speech too. :D

What a scum bag.

And I really hope a $h!t Ton of LGBT folks and families of fallen soldiers pay a visit to the funeral.

I know it is not right to hate, 2 wrongs don't make a right, etc...
But I really want him to get the treatment he gave to others.

Bribe it or not, Phelps did some good before he went totally cracked. And I think the worst thing that could ever happen to him is actually going to meet his maker. As for the remaining family, they simply thrive on conflict. If everyone wants to send them a message at Phelp's funeral, ignore it. That's the best way to drive them nuts.

Best action I ever read about was some "gay minister" was performing "gay weddings" for his ancestors and deceased family.

All of his predecessor relatives are gay married.

Spot on. Reminds me of the line from Tommy... Let's forget you better still.

um, how is this not in SZ?

He might have made them
but their environment made them bigots

If you believe any of the major religions he made us all, and we are the sinners, only to be forgiven.

Who's to say he won't be?

This should cheer up all the folks not invited to today's parades.

I can imagine a meeting between Mr. Phelps and the Almighty*. I picture the big guy shaking His head sadly and saying, "Wow, you just completely missed the whole point, didn't you?"

*Put into anthropomorphized, cartoon form for the theologically impaired

I'm not usually much for antagonistic behavior, but when that LGBT rights group (I think that's who it was) bought that house across the street from the church and painted in rainbow I absolutely loved it.

To be consumed by hatred is to live a life of hell. So long, Fred.

Did he really hate people or just love money?;)

I obviously don't know the man personally, although I did come face to face with his clan at a gay-rights march once, but you could have a point. After all, when it comes to a lot of "churches," hatred is big business. Especially self-hatred.:D But any way you look at it, this was clearly one sick dude.

Death changes nothing.

If you're a sphincter, then you die, you're just a dead sphincter in my book. ;)

That was Mussolini.
Except that most sources suggest that improvements to the train system were due to changes before he took power and he simply took credit where credit was not due. Plus, while train service had improved, it still had problems.

I agree with this sentiment, let the family mourn in private.

I think his grave should become sort of a shrine to all veterans, a place we could go to reflect and think, a peaceful private place. A place to filter some beer and whisky onto the hallowed ground of his grave..... in order to show our respect.

They demonstrated at my college graduation back in 03' had no idea who he was, just thought it odd and funny to see people standing around with those signs. Without the internet they would have never gotten the outrage they needed to be successful. Who knows if there was hate first then they monetized it, or maybe money was the plan all along.
