Anybody here have an aviation themed plate on there vehicle? I saw one this morning that said RV GRIN. I'm going to assume that person built his own RV and is a pilot.

I had 747JB for a while, but gave it up when I started driving company cars all the time.

I was thinking of getting the one below when I get my ticket

I've got Udvar-Hazy center plates (they're old enough that they say Dulles Annex on them) with a SR-71. Mine has my ham call sign (which is an N number which I had reserved but I decided I was never going to get around to using so now some guy has it on a glider). My wife has the same plates with the Navion N number.

HER: Why did you put the N number on the license plate
ME: What was your license plate number before?
HER: I don't know JQ-something
ME: What is it now?

She also has her "I'd rather be flying my Navion" license plate frame.

An employee of mine and VA Aero plates with 0 AGL (he even used a little black tape to put a slash in the zero).

Back when I lived in Colorado I had standard issue Colorado plates but managed to be at the DMV when the plate

HP 7700

was close to being issued. I asked nice and they gave it to me.

I have SHRT FNL. No one gets it (non pilots), even when I tell them what it means.

Graphics have recently been changed but the plate's the same.

My boxster has Fly2Low on it. When I first got the car it was faster then the airplanes I had access to. Now I have a faster plane.

Haven't put a personalized plate on my Boxster ('02 986) yet - trying to find something LA KINGS related that isn't taken :(

Ordered KTOABUM for the F350 last week

I've always wanted VMO/MMO on a fast car.
I guess it's good to want.

My Boxster (a 2002 . . . So it's almost vintage) has FLYPA24.

Or he has a big 5th wheel trailer. Ha.

I started dropping my customized plates and things when we moved out here. Driving 40 miles round trip to go pick them up seemed silly when the DMV has a stack of ready-to-hand-out plates. Making a return trip and paying extra for it, isn't worth it.

The ham radio call plates go next when I sell the Yukon. No point in moving them to another vehicle.

Are all pilots rich? Everyone in this thread owns a boxster

I have A AND P on my wagon

I have also seen
RTRUDDR and CFII on the road

As someone else pointed out in another thread, the way you get a plane is to drive old cars. Mine is 17 years old and the other two posters are 11 years old. We just happen to buys cars that last a long time and are a blast to drive.

I have a frame that complains about me wanting to fly my Piper or some such thing. I've long sold my Piper and hardly ever fly anymore. Someday I'll get around to removing and replacing it with something more appropriate to my current lifestyle, like LAZY LAYABOUT.

Rear frame is from US129, front says
"I am a leaf on the wind
Wash is my copilot"

FREEATLAST ? :) :) :)

CLR2LND has been taken in Nevada. I looked at a few others and settled on something travel-related but not aviation.

We had a lady controller at O"Hare who had this plate:

ORD CZI

She said about once a week, some airline pilot would get it and give her a thumbs up as he went by.

I had to google CZI...that's hilarious.
