Private checkride went horribly wrong!

Wow, everyone got so excited about 1,000 posts. We have a thread coming up on 49,000 over on the PB. :D

Yes... I overdid it at one point and got banned. And I totally deserved it! Almost messed it up right there!

I am a PPL with IR, about 700 hours or so. Just an average pilot, and never failed my checkride. I enjoyed my training including using paper charts.

I hope there are no hard feelings. It was just for the sake of a little humor. I have huge respect for most of you. Thanks for the laughs.

If I get banned, I understand and I harbor no hard feelings on my side.

I found the entire thing very humorous and not for one second did I believe you were anything other than a troll. So I never did get worked up.

One or two posts might have been slightly overboard, but for the most part, would read again:D
 
Good job! You smelled like a troll but you also sounded a lot like a guy I used to work with. And he wasn't kidding around. :D

A twisted sense of humor is one thing, your behavior is over the line. :rolleyes2:
In other words, if you were going to play the nut then you shouldn't have been abusive. It isn't about staying "in character" since you chose the character, it's about working within the guidelines of the board.

If you believe the earlier stuff, that's not close to plausible.

While I've certainly met some seriously screwed up people, he was several steps beyond anything I've experienced, if you take him seriously.

You didn't notice how he was reacting to all the statements made in the most over-the-top way possible, especially later on? He didn't just make mistakes. He made every possible mistake.

At the end there was no way he was real.

One can be both, a douche and a troll.

In the past, it was mostly addicts who would get into arguments with Bruce on what they have to do to get a medical. A spoiled rich brat who gets sloshed and argumentative after a busted checkride is just as likely.
 
When I did my PP checkride the examiner told me a story.

He had done a checkride for an "entitled" you man recently (his words, not mine).

Apparently then young man had some issues with navigation. At some point he asked the student if he was lost, student said no, this went on for a few minutes. Finally when it was obvious he was really lost, and had no hope of correcting it, he busted him.

The student flipped out, telling him that wasn't possible, because he did not fail at things. The examiner assured him it was in fact quite possible. Student then refused to fly the plane (he wasn't a pilot, so of course couldn't fly the plane). Examiner had to fly them back to the airport. Student went into the examiners office put his head down and refused to even acknowledge the examiner. Examiner wound up having to call his CFI to come and get him.

I imagine if you do check rides long enough, you get a lot of "interesting" stories.

I know an examiner that had a local student sent to him from a local instructor without:
1.) a written test pass
2.) a single endorsement authorizing the student to take the checkride

The instructor I guess didn't know you needed that?

I'm sure such things happen. The troll at hand kept it going for a while because he was on the edge of plausibility. But if you look over the sum total of everything he did wrong, he really didn't miss anything he had an opportunity to F up. And later on, he went even further over the deep end, rather clearly over the plausibility line.

Have you ever heard an authenticated story anywhere near the scale at hand?

Nope. I've never sent a student to a checkride improperly that I can recall. I'm pretty damn careful with endorsements and paperwork.
 
When someone is banned, can they still read posts?
 
I believe you can read posts without logging in so yes.
