Greetings! I was told THIS was THE place to get the finest expertise in all things medical-related, specifically referencing Dr. Bruce. So here goes:
I am pursuing a lifelong dream of flying, having fond memories of many flights with my Dad as a little girl. I am now fulfilling that dream and loving every minute of it!
I ran into a snag when I went for my flight physical and was denied due to an Effexor prescription (18.5 mg / day) originally prescribed to smooth out symptoms of menopause. The AME I visited said if my Dr. concurred I could cease the medication and reapply after 60 days, assuming I had no problems living without it. Well, I am coming up on the 60 days next week and there has been no return of any of the symptoms that led to the original prescription, so I am looking forward to reapplying as soon as possible.
Is there any particular verbiage I need from my regular Dr. to help expedite the issuance of my medical? Is this something the AME can do or must it go through OKC? Is there anything I can do to expedite that process? I'm very near soloing and am anxious to move forward with my training.
Any help will be great appreciated. Thanks in advance for your expertise.
