Seems like it was just yesterday that David was one of those sixteen year old punk kids playing video games all day that wasn't even allowed to fly an airplane without an adult ;)

It took a lot of banging around in a 172 and a Debonair but he eventually became an instrument rated commercial pilot allowed to fly an airplane without a grown up.

Fast forward to last week - and he is now employed as a full-time commercial pilot for a surveying company in Lincoln, NE. Not only does he get to do a lot of flying he gets to learn about surveying and has a path to become a licensed surveyor if he so chooses. David - Keep the blue side up and try not to forget about us when you're famous :)

Indeed congratulations! This is quite an accomplishment and you should be proud.

[...]try not to forget about us when you're famous :)

Famous as a pilot or a surveyor? Except for maybe Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, not too many people famous for their surveying feats.

Congratulations to David! (can he even SPELL "theodolite?")

Congrats David!

Congrats on the new gig, David!

I thought he got a job flying Cessnas in Alaska?

Anyhow, congrats! How I wish I could turn flying into a career.

I would like to turn flying into a PROFFITABLE career.

That would take a magician.
But if I had a profitable career, I wouldn't need to get paid to fly :D

Oh crap, now I'll have to dodge his giant head next time I see him... sigh :rolleyes2:

Good job bud! Jesse, thanks for posting this, as I'm sure you have been a large part of his success, a great friend and mentor to a very talented young man.

Yeah, but they're in to chains.

Thank you all for your well wishes, and a huge thanks to Jesse. I would not be where I am today were it not for him being a mentor, and first and foremost, a friend. I love ya bro. (No homo)

Ha Jess there are a few here who remember when you were not far off from a 16 yo punk kid LOL., Good on David and Good on you for all the great training you gave him.

Ok, so what will you be flying?

BTW, congrats.

Right now a Debonair. They are buying a plane soon though. Don't wanna post what that might be yet. Would spoil the surprise.
