I saw the PoA Strava thread from a while ago... any PoAers on Zwift? I just joined now that the weather has turned cold and brutal. I'm working on building my legs back up to being in shape and I grabbed a junky bike that fits the bill perfectly to throw onto a trainer. If so, we should organize a virtual ride!
I'm trying to come back via Zwift, did an hour this morning. Zwift with a Tacx neo trainer is about as close to really being outside as I've found.
from my experience so far, Zwift seems more social (if you want it to be) and certainly more advanced with user interface. the feature I miss most from CT'er is riding vs a ghost rider/past performance. I found some effective courses on CT'er platform for training, I haven't found them for Zwift yet, but they are probably out there. WaHoo is great. Only spin down every week or so.
I've got the kinetic road machine smart trainer. It outputs information to zwift, but it doesn't add resistance for hills or anything. I still enjoy it though, I get to see my speed increase and decrease accordingly and that's enough punishment/gain for climbs/descents .
I ride on Zwift about an hour every day, started this fall. I ride more in the basement than I ever did outside!
I’ve been gearing up and riding outside, until recently. Snowstorms and major kitchen rebuild (month long, almost done) have kept me off the bike. Was riding 2-3 hrs/day 4 days/week. My brother has a seriously cool Zwift setup that makes me jealous, but all my cash goes into kitchen stuff. And airplane stuff. At least I have winter tires on the road bike, and the mtn bike is always ready for anything.
