zip-ties

When my exp Cub was inspected by my DAR he took exception to some of my zip ties at the engine mount. He told me to cut them off and re-do them using a second zip tie as a choker to make the wire bundles stand off the tube. No problems. No sign of any wear on the powder coated engine mount. Not as much as a scuff.
Powder coating is really hard stuff. But sand is harder, and once the tie gets a bit loose, the coating will suffer.

One can use electrical tape on the mount under the tie. Or that self-sticking silicone emergency tape.

Correct, correct.

We powder coated for >10 years, when applied and processed correctly even the sand blast guys won’t answer your calls

That said, sand and force will win.

Which is why I use, and recommended, the rubber lines ties.
