YYZ De-ice

[455 Bravo Uniform]

Doing a trip this week IND-YYZ-PIT-ATL-BTR-CLT-IND and left YYZ this morning. Pilot said it was the largest deice facility of its kind. Interesting ops.

I thought the green slime was cool (that's really the only reason for my post, it was a good excuse to post this pic).

I've been traveling in snow since Sunday eve. Ready for summer.

Don't feel too bad. In the frozen white wasteland up north one expects these things. Evening of Jan 9th I transited through IAH flying United. We had to visit the de-ice pad on the way out. I didn't even know Houston had a de-ice pad...

(And no, they did NOT use oil fired heaters, contrary to popular legend )

Yup, the wood fired heaters make the white smoke ya see at IAH.
