You guys are all big city types. Here's my town:

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,787 people, 569 households, and 451 families residing in the township. The population density is 42.1/km² (109.1/mi²). There are 587 housing units at an average density of 13.8/km² (35.8/mi²).

Grand Canyon, Arizona (where I grew up)
Total area of 34.8 km² (13.4 mi²). 34.8 km² (13.4 mi²)
Population: 1,460 Median Income: The median income for a household in the CDP is $42,083, and the median income for a family is $53,676. Males have a median income of $28,750 versus $23,565 for females.

Ocean Shores, WA (where I'll be living next year)
Total area of 31.3 km² (12.1 mi²)
Population: 3836 Median Income: The median income for a household in the city is $34,643 For some reason I have a way of ending up in small towns. :dunno:

Blue Bell PA : 6,395 people, 2,434 households, and 1,827 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 456.4/km² (1,183.0/mi²). There are 2,503 housing units at an average density of 178.6/km² (463.0/mi²).

The median income for a household in the CDP is $94,160, and the median income for a family is $106,617. which is totally skewed because we got a few families who have billions with a capital B. They bring the rest of us serfs way up.

True enough; the figure I cited was average (per-capita) income, a different thing from median.

Neither figure would support much of a flying habit, I fear.

Albuquerque, NM:

Population
Total (2003)
Density 753,988 (metropolitan area)
471,856 (city proper)
2,483.4/mi² - 958.9/km²

3.6 km2
The median income for a household in the village is $50,724, and the median income for a family is $56,429. Males have a median income of $45,804 versus $33,750 for females. The per capita income for the village is $22,386.

interesting addition to stuff about Albuquerque:

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 448,607 people, 183,236 households, and 112,690 families residing in the city. The population density is 958.9/km² (2,483.4/mi²). There are 198,465 housing units at an average density of 424.2/km² (1,098.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 71.59% White, 3.09% Black or African American, 3.89% Native American, 2.24% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 14.78% from other races, and 4.31% from two or more races. 39.92% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Emphasis is mine - I thought the percentage would be a lot higher!

Also - about income:

The median income for a household in the city is $38,272, and the median income for a family is $46,979. Males have a median income of $34,208 versus $26,397 for females. Out of the total population, 17.4% of those under the age of 18 and 8.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
