So many choices, and if I thought I could narrow down to five when I read the topic, reading the many responses has rendered the task overwhelming.

Here, in no particular order, are a few of my favorites (and, where appropriate, any appropriate aviation reference):

Giant (Reata-marked private DC-7)
Fandango (psychedelic-painted 182 with a horn, flying out of (I think) Rattlesnake Army Air Force Base, West Texas)
Field of Dreams
Is Paris Burning? (great WW-II flick)

That's enough, before I start wasting my day while wracking my brain.

A couple of "little" movies that tell great stories:

For Love of the Game - Kevin Coster's real homage to baseball.

Stanley and Iris - Jane Fonda and Robert DeNiro at their very very best.

Good "Big" movies:
King Arthur - The new one with Clive Owen and Ioan Gruffud.
Kingdom of Heaven - Orlando Bloom and Liam Neeson

Don't miss the beginning of either of these or much of the ending will be meaningless.

Catch-22: B-25's and the cast was PHENOMINAL. I mean, c'mon, Orson Welles and Art Garfunkel in the same flick!

The Longest Day: Makes Saving Private Ryan look like a kindergarten romp

Raiders of the Lost Ark: Hey, its got Nazis in it.

Das Boot: Its got "good" Nazis in it. Best sub flick ever, makes Run Silent Run Deep look like a it was done in my tub.

Run Silent Run Deep: Great sub flick done on location....in my tub.

Dr. Strangelove: Best Survival Kit ever....

The Terminator: The first one...."I'll be back".
