I've been following Matt's journey around the globe.
His flight plan today will put him back at KSEE around 9pm local time. Matt would break the record for youngest solo circumnavigation by 10 days.

from Huffington post:
The pilot began his trip on a 1981 Bonanza from El Cajon, Calif. on May 27, where it is expected to take him a total of 40 days to complete, or 160 hours of flying time. Australian Ryan Campbell, the current holder of the Guinness world record, was 19 years, seven months, and 25 days old when he took the title. Guthmiller will be that age on July 24.

Someone needs to tell that Amelia girl that this is how it's done.

It's great that this guy can do it and all, certainly says something about his navigation and flying skills. But what's so special about the fact that he's youngest? All that means is that his parents gave him a **** load of money.

When I was 19, I could barely make a grilled cheese sandwich.

Lindbergh was 25 when he crossed the Atlantic, and that was 1927. In 2014 it's not that special.
If you were exposed to aviation your whole life and have parents who can pay for all your flying, it's definitely not special. The hard part about making such flight is the planning, you think he did all the planing himself? I bet you he's even got a whole bunch of GPSs attached to him and half the world tracking him, hell I wouldn't be surprised if he had a news helicopter fly formation with him the whole way to record the thing. So anyways, I think it's his parents who should go into the guinness book of world record for allowing their 19 year old kit to fly around the world.
