Well I had a wonderful weekend. Our gliding club does an annual Young Eagles day for an EAA camp out of West Bend, WI. In the past i've helped out as a ground crew member, but as a newly minted commercial glider pilot I got to fly the Blanik.

Out of the 15 kids we had I got to fly 7 of them in the Blanik. For most of them the glider ride was only the second time in any sort of light airplane, and every single one of them was excited to go. the best part of the whole day was that it was somewhat soarable, so I managed to gain at least 500' on each ride. One kid really caught on fast, and as the Vario swung up, and we felt the kick in the pants he yelled "Lift!".

I only had one kid get mildly queasy, and I felt kinda bad about that, but the best part was that as we were on downwind, he turned around and told me "I feel better now, we can go circle around again". I can't believe I waited so long to do young eagle rides. They are so much fun.

I got in 7 flights and a little over 2 and a half hours of flight time.
