The wife caught me again!

We were driving by the GA airport the other day on the way to Walmart and my eyes wondered up to the sky watching the PA 28 take off. I cannot help Walmart is across the street from the airport. She rattled my cage and said "you are obsessed." I said "you just figured that out after 25 years of marriage" I have been obsessed with airplanes since I was born.

She didn't give me a hard time about not keeping my eyes on the road. :dunno:

If a plane flies over and someone s talking to me it's in one ear and out the other.
Same with porn.

Sorry I have been watching porn on planes again.

How can you compare the two. The planes will always take priority, usually the wife says what was that airplane. As opposed to are you kidding me.

How often does porn fly overhead? I need to move to your hometown.

My honeybee queens mate 15+ times in the air and the drones privates get ripped from his body when finished. They usually auger in with a big smile.:D

I ran outside just now to see someone flying over NW bound around 6-8K. The wife ask if I heard that inside? Why yes.

'Ohhhhhh, man -- will ya check out the bodacious wings on that babeeeee!'

'Yeah, you got it man. I bet you get some real vertical penetration with that engine too'

'aaaaaahhhhhhhhh, I can't get over the undercarriage on that thing. You can see right up into the wheel wells. That is some shot there.'

Not exactly porn, but banner towers worked out of Opa Locka while I flew out of there.

One of the banners was of Marky Mark in underwear - the one on the right, I think:

I often wondered what it would be like to have a midair with it, the very last thing you saw being...

Oh, never mind.

I'll crane my neck for a helicopter, never for vanilla GA stuff. Radial engines, and rotaxes sure, but not for the usual stuff.

:raspberry::cryin::mad2:
MY EYES!!!! Ah my eyes. What is wrong with you.

Now constantly watching the weather Chanel could be considered pilot porn.

There are two kinds of people..those that look at every airplane that flies by and those who don't...

Well, if you had to hit him, hit him where it counts.:rolleyes2:

I can identify a lot of planes just by the sound and most people who know me well know that. The reputation does allow me to have a little fun on occasion. My wife and I were working in the yard one day and a couple of neighbors came over and were shooting the breeze. Off in the distance you could hear a plane approaching and one of my neighbors asks me what kind it was. Without batting an eye, or looking up, I announce:
"It's a Cessna 150"
I paused for a second and announced:
"It's a "C" model"
Then waited a second and said:
"And it's painted red and white with a blue tail with a white star on the vertical stabilizer. Oh and it has new, unpainted, wheel pants."
Of course my neighbors are laughing hysterically and calling BS on the whole performance.
And then the plane flew over and it was a C-150C exactly as described, right down to the unpainted wheel pants.
Everyone was impressed, even my wife (who should know better) and to this day, my neighbors still talk about it.
The real story: My buddy wanted me to custom paint the wheel pants on his C-150C, so we arranged for him to buzz my house to let me know he was here, and I would drive up to the airport. We would take the wheel pants off and I would bring them home to paint them. It wasn't until a couple of weeks later, when I was almost finished with the project that my wife had her "Wait just a minute!" moment. But she has never ratted me out to the neighbors. That was the last plane I ever painted, and the best job of my life. I painted the pants with claws, and my buddy was so impressed he let me paint the whole plane to look like a Curtiss P-6E.

Don't feel too bad Dave. When I was in Phoenix, for and interview, a week before Christmas a few years ago my wife and I rented a convertible Mustang. I looked at the POH (that's what I've come to call a car's owners manual now) and figured out how to drop the top. We were pegged as "Out of towners" right away. Long story, short, the day we left I was driving West on Interstate 10 headed back to the airport to return the car, with my wife, and I saw two silhouettes on the horizon at less than 500AGL. I thought how odd that they would be that low over a congested area. I pointed it out to my wife. I got "That's cool Honey" (she's not a pilot). Right down the interstate came two F-16 Falcons. I got yelled at because as they went right overhead and I followed them with my eyes. 75 MPH in 8 lanes of traffic and I'm staring at Fighters with my head straight up (cause you've gotta have to top down in 70 degree weather when you're from Minnesota a week before Christmas). lol

Same with porn.

If that's your wife's real pic in her avatar you have no business w/ porn.

As for aircraft flying over, I look every time. Even if it's directly in front of the sun.

I'm like that too, she knows not to even try to talk to me when the Dreamlifter flies over.

I used to live under a low-level (VR) route and had a screen door with a latch that stuck. I ran through the screen more than once in my rush to get outside and see something cool fly over.

Nauga,
and his pilot screening

I do the same, since I live near KRHV. One day, I noticed more planes flying over than normal, so I Googled it, and found out there was an Airport Day that day, that I ended up going to.

Watching the planes flying over is what sparked my interest in GA. It suddenly dawned on me one day how much freedom that is, being able to fly your own plane somewhere, anytime you want (skill and weather permitting, of course).

The thing is it doesn't have to be airplanes that makes me stare into the sky.

It could be Helicopters, Hot air balloons "We have a lot of those here" airplanes, blimps, Gliders, flying parachutes power and non powered, birds, ect.

Just this morning I was watching some large birds flying near the approach end of PHX international airport on my way to work. I was thinking it wouldnt be good if those got sucked into a airliner.

I have a fascination with flight in general.

Same here.
I think that just about everything that flies has a certain grace about it.
That's the one thing I like about RC is you not only control it but also get to be the observer.

Heli's are boring. I get Apaches flying over my house everyday. It's the GA stuff that I like lol

Oh yes I'm a active RC Pilot as well.

To take these further. With RC you can build the airplane, Fly the airplane and watch the airplane.

Planes or porn, I stop what I'm doing and look. :yesnod:

Well, maybe I don't stop everything I'm doing ... :D

Like no wives get that way over shoes and purses. I know mine does.

Sad really. It's only a matter of time before you tire of all things flying. I even look at birds flying while I am driving in utter amazement. I study their moves and try to learn from them as "masters of the air". Anything that flies I look at, even clouds.

Anything that flies is porn to me.

I love watching birds fly. On my paraglider I will often within a few feet of hawks, everybody has fun despite not having ads-b or flight following.:D

My wife ordered me the Playboy channel as a gift and she still gives me crap sometimes for watching it. But she also makes fun of me for looking at every plane that flies over the house.

I was born and raised in Gilbert off, Greenfield and Guadlupe. I used to watch T38 and T37 flying over my house from Williamson Air Force base.
