Yet another incident at Whiteman that will be used to support the call to close the airport. Luckily it may not be possible because they've accepted federal funds! Although that hasn't stopped some other airports from being closed...

Unclear if this was runway overrun from aborted takeoff or landing.

Small plane crashes through fence into parking lot after landing at Whiteman Airport

A fuel leak was contained Tuesday morning after a small plane went down at Whiteman Airport in Pacoima.

The blue car by the next tree over is mine. I waited to meet my friend so that I could ride with him to his cataract surgery and drive him back afterwards.

I saw the news piece on it while I was in the waiting room at the surgery center.

I waited in the shade of the tree where the plane ended up and then moved it to where you saw it so that it would get the afternoon shade. I think I had been far enough back that the plane would have just cozied up to it without hitting it.

Maybe if he has the other eye done, you might consider driving both ways. Hope his procedure went well.

News is now reporting that he had a landing gear malfunction upon touchdown which caused him to veer off The runway and through the fence...

I think the WHP Jungle Telegraph Network needs some rebooting. I haven't heard anything more about this one or the one back in April.

The only feedback that I have received from my usual suspects is that, in addition to wearing clean underwear in case of some unexpected event, one should wash one's car occasionally, lest it should appear on the news in all of its filthy glory.
