I have been using XM weather for several years on my Garmin 496, but now that all of the antenna locations are up and running am considering buying the Stratus II ADSB receiver. I have not personally seen the ADSB weather displayed on the iPad but have been told that XM is a better and more consistent presentation. For those who have or currently use both, can I get your comments? Thanks.

The XM is a little higher resolution but the ADS-B is great and works flawlessly.

You get Radar (animation too), TAF's, METARS, Airmets/Sigmets, NOTAMS, PIREPS and winds aloft.

With the exception of the mountains, around here I always have a good ADS B signal before reaching pattern altitude.

I switched from xm on the 496 to stratus II ,prefer the Foreflight presentation on my I Pad .saves me money ,also don't have to pay extra for most of the information available.never any problems with the stratus.
