XM Weather for Android?

I have an Android tablet coupled with an ADSB receiver. Works awesome and the nexrad saved my butt tonight.

However, I would like to test XM's implementation. Their site is confusing and I can find surprisingly little info on the 'net re: XM and Android.

Can someone please tell me what XM hardware I'd need to buy AND a suitable Android app? Seems like Garmin Pilot may work...

Methinks Pilot is supposed to be optimized for ADS-B WX and the GDL-39, not XM WX.
Don't know if you can get XM on the GDL-39 (don't know the freq basis for XM), but Garmin normally specifies the GDL-69 for XM reception.

Garmin Pilot for Android also has a number of new capabilities including the ability to graphically edit flight plans on the moving map page and support for the Baron MobileLink™ for XM weather reception (sold separately, subscription required).

I think you'll need another device to get XM weather. There may be a device that will talk to your Android device, but I don't know of one. I have the XM weather on my 496, but I'm betting it's showing me the same thing you get with ADSB, as they are both nexrad images coming from the same radar stations. Only difference might be the amount of delay.

Garmin Pilot works well with XM weather on the Android. You will need an XM receiver (WXWorx) and a Baron Mobile Link, plus appropriate power supplies, to make it work. The XM data is really much better than ADS-B data.
