Every two years the USAF Museum hosts a program called Dawn Patrol at the Field behind the Museum. This year it’s 7-8 Oct. A dozen or so WWI Replica aircraft fly at various times during the day along with a few more. There’s also a hoard of RC Models flying at other times. Also vendors, vintage cars and reenactors are on site.

I sat in on the Pilot’s Brief by the Air Boss. He briefed the standard bumf about altitudes, pattern, etc from the FAA Wavier (Class D Airspace). Last note was “No supersonic or transonic operation within the Airspace”. Pilots of the RC and mostly VW powered Fokkers, Nieuports etc were disappointed.

They don't allow flying in to that airport during this event do they?

I promise to try and keep the 172 subsonic.

You should see the paperwork required. If you brought in the plane, you’d likely be over MTOGW.
