I am hoping to make contact with anyone who carried out basic flying training at Gunter Field in Alabama in WW2 with the 84th, 85th and 86th Schools Squadrons. The school operated Vultee Valiants and North American Texans (Harvards) from here and Lakeland Army Air Field (AAF). Particularly interested in RAF pilots trained here and US military and civilian instructors at the base.

I have no real help for you, there is one thing to point out that might give you additional points for research.

If you are looking for WWII RAF pilot training information that might lead to something at your field, there is a museum at Terrell, Texas that commemorates the training of RAF pilots there.

This is probably not much help, but maybe there is some information you could learn from them that would help.

Best of luck in your research.:)
