I used 5 volt fans because I was plugging them into a USB port. There are 12 volt versions, too.

At lease this will give you an idea of the dimensions of the fans. There are many others to choose from on Amazon.

Here’s another approach for cooling an iPad in its foldable case. It wouldn’t be as effective as SolCal182 but it might give you some ideas on design. It seems to have kept my iPad from shutting down. The hot spots are along the right side and near the charging port. I found that it gets hotter when charging. Using the USB for a power source lets you charge and fan at the same time. The fan only uses 60 mA.
