I've decided I should trade up from my GPS296 to a 396 or 496 so I have a backup for XM weather.

I bought my 396 on eBay (incidentally, I'm also selling it on eBay right now). Seems like prices are about $900-1000 used.

I suppose it's too late to make you an offer?

No, I wish I had thought of putting it up here first. It's a good unit - as far as I can tell, it has all of the factory accessories minus the 12v power adapter. I've got the original Sportys purchase order, Garmin warranty cards, and owners manual, etc., too. The screen does have some scratches - maybe 8/10 or so, but it's hardly noticable during normal operation. I've got two pictures here and can take more if you'd like: http://img223.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=img1321ho.jpg.

I too might be interested in it if you still have it for sale. I been looking at buying a new one.

I bought Felix's 396 and sold my 296 to a local pilot.

FYI: if you call garmin and tell them that your 12V adapter broke, they'll send you a new one no questions asked. They had enough of a problem with the old 90 degree connectors that they're being great about replacing them.
