Has anyone had any luck with writing or drawing on their iPad?

I can't seem to be able to write anything that is legible. It always ends up choppy or a big black blob. I've seen some amazing drawings made on the iPad but I have no idea how that do it.

I do have a stylus but its a cheap iHome one. I've notice that I can't tell where the pen stoke will be because of the large footprint of the pen.

I use an app called Jot to write down taxi clearances with my index finger and it works alright so long as I write big.

I use the FF scratch pad for those.

I have been trying to use my mini for class. I tried on my old iPad 1 when I first got it but I kept getting annoyed that it would look like crap.

I've used the FF scratch pad as well, between my lousy handwriting and drawing with my finger, I am better off trying to remember a clearance!! :mad2:
I do keep a couple pens and some paper in the cockpit for clearances, only paper I use in flight, other than an occasional Kleenex.:D

I can't believe FF hasn't added multiple pages to the scratch pad yet. It's so silly not to...

I've never embraced the whole scratch pad thing. If I need to write something, I'm normally doing it in an email or text.

I use Noteability but when I'm flying I usually use the notepad in WingX Pro 7 (it has 5 pages).
I pull it up in view 2 of the split screen. I manage to write legibly enough to read my own notes. So that's all that matters to me.

I keep a log of clearances (if any) frequencies, times, squawks, etc on a 4 x 6 note pad using (gasp) an ink pen. It started as a memory aid for freqs and a back-up means of tracking flight time when working with an ancient panel. No real operational reason to do it now other than I'm generally not busy with much else: ADS-B weather/notams on the ipads; lookin' out the window for traffic & position (or GPS); voices in my head as long as I get the frequencies right. I suppose the FAA medical branch will track me down now that I've mentioned voices in my head. It's okay, they go away when I take the headset off.

Keep several pens and paper ,to write down clearance, and en route changes. Could never get the scratch pad in ff to be readable.

Sketchbook Pro is a pretty good drawing app. ArtRage isn't bad. I have used Upad for note taking.
