Wright flyer crashed at Huffman Prairie, Dayton, OH

An "idiot?"

That's a bit harsh.

FWIW, this isn't rec.aviation.*

Introduce yourself and be civil.

You haven't read the other posts today from our new citizen yet, apparently. Not sure he/she knows how, but at least his/her name "fits".

You guys are all high and mighty. In the classified section under need multi time a guy admitts flying past Angel Flights in a twin with one engine in his words," way over TBO." And I am bad?
One of us read the post wrong. I thought he was going to fly the angel flight after his engine was overhauled.

Lance is a very safe pilot and conservative airplane owner. Please check your attitude and review our Rules of Conduct. A certain level of civility is expected.

Agreed. Keep the banhammer at the ready jesse :D

To bring this back on course...
Dusenberry, a licensed pilot, has made many dozens of successful flights in the Wright Flyer III, including a number of reenactment events. At the time he said “as you learn to fly the airplane there will be incidents and there will be accidents; some small, some larger
I guess this was one of the larger ones. I've heard that the earlier Wright planes were very tricky to fly.

From what I've read they were extremely unstable in pitch and flown only a few knots above stall. It's amazing that the Wrights were able to teach themselves how to fly in such a difficult machine.
