Just pulled this TAF for LRU, wow, batten down the hatches. Gotta be a typo. Runs off to make sure insurance on the plane is paid up

I don't think that rule of thumb actually works when the gust spread is almost twice your stalling speed. :)
 
Holy cow. When it starts gusting, you could wind up stuck in one place trying to land on runway 26. Just floating there, waiting for the gust to go down. lol.
 
yea nick, and when the gust does die, its gonna be ka-runch
 
Ha Ha, so true, but in this case it would be BLBD (blowing buildings)

but the 88kts is not so impossible.
Pretty benign here today, so I figured unlikely.
Does your shop paint? I had some paint questions.
