World's smallest airport (functioning model)

[TangoWhiskey]

Tristan posted this on FB. I don't see it here on POA. You gotta watch it. It took me a minute to realize I wasn't seeing real airport footage.

The filming was pretty amazing, too.

Love the last shot. Who knew that airport was an STS backup site?

Very nice! Lots of time and patience to put it all together.

That's amusing every time I see it! Here's a fantastic mini-series explaining how it all works:

Make sure you hit the "CC" button at the bottom for English subtitles! The airport is just a tiny part of a much much larger display.

I thought the whole thing was "a puppet show" with hidden rods being moved from below the deck but the taxiing jets and support vehicles are self powered!

Outstanding.

I plan on visiting it here in the near future. My kids have been bugging me to go since we got here. I understand it's an entire complex of miniaturization. $4.8 milion to build...
