That looks like great fun.

I'm surprised that would be considered the most dangerous. Courchevel looks far more hazardous if one is a klutz. Based on a few videos though, I would put an aircraft carrier at night in weather with heavy seas number first on the not safe places to land list.
 
Not that I'd feel comfortable on either but Courcheval is a bit wider IIRC. Scary for sure. I wonder what the hell the crash pilot was thinking trying an approach in those conditions.
 
Check out this footage of the approach and landing to Lukla, Nepal airport. You only get one chance and there is NO GO AROUND!
Ain't no different on that score than the old Hazard KY airport. And worse, once you passed midfield on downwind, you could not see the runway (or be seen from the airport) until you turned final. Since Hazard didn't have a tower to sort things out, and not everyone had and used a radio, every now and then an arriving airplane would have to duck under a departing one.:hairraise:
