He was less than 2 nm from Long Beach airport when he landed, but said he was headed for Compton. I'd like to hear ATC.

I've flown a lot in the area, although not recently. There aren't a lot of options for a forced landing, and I'd hate to be the one trying to pick a spot to put down. Even if Compton was the intended destination, Long Beach provides a lot more options and space, and coming from French Valley would likely put you very close to Long Beach before reaching Compton.
