Wiring XLR-3 socket for Sennheiser

I have a couple of nice Sennheiser ANR headsets that I bought on eBay. Problem is that they burn through batteries at a fierce pace. The battery pack connects to the headset with an XLR-3 connector and you can panel mount a socket to power them. I will be working with my A&P on this but curious if anyone has ever done this and knows how to wire it. I have a query in to Sennheiser.

Pin 1 +, Pin 2 ground, Pin 3 not connected

Looking at the picture you posted, pin 1 is the top left one, pin 2 is the top right, pin 3 is the bottom one.

Thanks. I will also check the polarity on the battery pack but was wondering if the third pin did anything. Can't see why it would and your post confirms that.
 
You can also get a cigar lighter adapter for them if you want to try that before adding the plug.
