The forecast high temp here today will be close to 80f. Last night the temp only got down to 41f.

Forecast for the coming week calls for temps in the high 70s and at night in the mid 30s.

I have a programmable thermostat on my heater. This was the first morning the heat didn't come on.

Time to get the swamp cooler running so my house sitter will stay comfortable while I suffer through the hot summer in Homer, Ak.

edit: oooops.... sorry, I left out where I am. We are in the high desert of Gallup, NM but will spend the summer in Homer.

Sounds like it's actually warmer up there than it is down here. Northern VT is in the upper 60's today, though we'll probably get into the 70s on Mon - before it cools down again. Spring has barely started.

53* right now in the ANC area. Just got home from putting the small boat in the river. Cabin chores and fishing next week. It begins!

I'd be offshore fishing with friends if I didn't have a function in town tonight. But my day ain't half bad, either.

The 100 day war begins, and next fall when the termination dust comes, it is really time to get busy to put everything away.....:lol:

And of course after I get the swamp cooler ready for summer, a thunderstorm developed right over head. A real nice ditch filling frog floating rain with a little snow mixed in and the temp went from 78 to 64 in about 10 minutes. Now a steady light rain with a cool breeze outside and the temp has steadily fallen to 53 degrees. Gotta love the high desert.

King fishing was excellent all winter in Katchemak. Really excellent. We had no winter. You missed it!

I have spent several winters north of the Arctic Circle.... I missed nothing.!!:lol::lol:

But I will tell my wife, she is the fisherman of the family. I will take her out for halibut at least once. Maybe we will get out early enough for a couple kings before they start the run. She is looking forward to that.

I picked up ice flying from NM to Phoenix on Monday. By Thursday, it was 100 degrees!

I had to dodge frogs on the Kiowa-Bennett road in the rain a couple of nights ago. Definitely springtime.
