Windshied frame/ V-bar painting

How would you reccommend painting the interior frame of an airplane?

The paint is chipping, very little to no rust, so I would be painting purely for cosmetic/ rust prevention. I've heard of people rattle canning it but didn't know how durable spray paint holds up.

If anyone has reccomendations on sanding, primer, or type of paint, they would be greatly appreciated.

Remove and have it powder coated. Better yet, leave it alone. Mine's worn down to zinc chromate primer from years of grabbing it.

Mine is worn down to the zinc chromate too. It's just an eye sore. I see a lot of planes with tape on the frame not sure what kind of tape it is, look like electrical tape. would you reccomend that as a place holder?
