I use Surface and Surface Pro, what are you looking to find out? Can't really beat the surface pro for what it offers.
I don't go to school, but I use both devices to do EDX and Coursera courses, online studygroups, Skype, im and on the pro I have visual studio, python and a bunch of oracle stuff installed and VMware.. pretty funny how I can power up multiple Linux vms on my tablet and preview a redhat/oracle cluster for a lab..
