My daughter who was childhood diagnosed with ADHD just got her 2nd class medical from our AME without the cogscreen. I was totally expecting we would be deferred. It was our 2nd visit to him. First visit he requested we submit the original psych eval and a letter from her current doctor stating how long ago she got off meds and how she was doing which we did and he issued it. So is that it? Or will the FAA overturn or deny it?
This site suggests they will overturn. https://www.faa.gov/about/office_or...ces/aam/ame/guide/dec_cons/disease_prot/adhd/
The AME is going to be disciplined and even if the psych eval is adequate (it is suppoded to be a Neurcognitive eval with testing, by a Ph.D. psychologist, see attached). Most likely even if it complies to the attachment, she will get a recall fo the certificate and a one year special issuance (if she's been off many many years, perhaps not so). AMEs are not to issue this one. It's a little late to be turning it back in.....
What do you mean a one year special issuance? She will have to wait a year? She starts aviation scholl in the fall.
