1.) They have to pay for their fuel
2.) They don't get cool Nomex flight suits for free
3.) No one calls them Sir.
4.) They can't call up ATC and tell them what they are going to do and expect quick obedience.
5.) If their ride breaks they can't just get another one while someone else worries about fixing it.
6.) They have to pay for their own training.
7.) Their planes or helos don't have cool paint jobs and lots of stenciled stuff on them.
8.) When they land someone else doesn't take care of putting the ride away and checking it out.
9.) Altitude restrictions apply to them
10.) When they retire they don't get paid fat numbers by all the poor souls who couldn't make the grade and land the gig military guys did.
