iAM in AK!
Ok, this is a new aircraft for me... We had a twin come in to KCXO a few weeks ago that suffered a nose gear collapse on landing, essentially ruining the 3 bladed props, and doing unknown damage to the engines. (they have not been torn down yet)

At first, I thought it was an APACHE. But the cabin was too large. I could not figure it out. I finally went right up to the aircraft to look over the damage and to determine what type of aircraft it was... Even our mechanics were stumped!

Who has ever heard of a B206...? It is a BEAGLE BASSETT! SN#28 http://www.ukskies.co.uk/index.htm?http://www.ukskies.co.uk/B/pages/Beagle%20Aircraft%20-%20B206%20Basset.htm

It has a full length divan running up one side of the cabin, a rearward facing seat, and a full width bench seat in the back, and two crew seats up front. HUGE windows, and incredible amounts of head and shoulder room.

It was so very unusual, that I thought I'd ask you all if you are familiar with this a/c.

There was one of these hangared at an airport where I learned to fly back around 1978,79. It belonged to some air force colonel.
Other than big and roomy inside I don't remember much about it. I think it was a foreign manufacture, can't remember for sure. I fueled the plane and talked with the owner many times. He was as strange as the airplane.

ahhh ... elbow room! I just LOVE elbow room!

Can't ever afford it, though. :(

Odd looking plane, but I kinda like it! :)

I've heard of it, but then I've always been into oddball airplanes (maybe why I owned an Aero Commander Lark). There was a B206 at Herlong for a while, but it's long gone.

Ah yes, the Beagle...

I got to sit it one a couple of months ago while it was visiting for some avionics work. One could almost place bunk beds in it's spacious cabin and the visibility from the flight deck is pretty darned nice for a piston twin.

BTW colomtnflyer. I was a CXO about three weeks ago. One of my favorite airports.

Wow. And here I always thought that a B206 was a JetRanger :D

The Bassett is written up in Janes Vintage Aircraft Guide, BTW.
