Thought I would start a discussion here, which one are you, a pilot or aviator?

I used to be an aviator, now I'm reduced to being just a pilot. :D

Anyway....

You can make a picture say anthing you want... I consider the words to mean the same thing even though some Army instructors would like to think as an aviator you're above a pilot. Blah... Blah... Blah...

I'm not sure I remember all the adjectives, but here are a few:
I think I was a flier first, then I was a pusher, because I pushed metal around the sky, then I was an aviator, then a pilot.
Now I'm a magician, or maybe a magicians assistant, because I'm "that damn old fool who keeps disappearing in an airplane".

I'm a skilled pilot, not a gifted pilot. I think that's what the OP was looking for.

Let's just say that I seem to be followed by a TV series every place I go.

I am allowed to legally fly an airplane. I can take off, go somewhere, and land without crashing it. Whatever that makes me is what I am.

I'm a Pilot becoming an Aviator. I think it has to do with the most efficient use of all resources. There are Pilots I wouldn't be caught dead flying with.

"They call them aviators in the Navy...they say they're better than pilots!"

I just fly stuff.

Titles are important to people who talk about flying stuff.
